No inspiration porn. No brave-warrior speeches.
The room goes quiet.
Then we start laughing.
Schwami & Me is a community for anyone carrying something visible — a scar, a paralysis, a tumour, a difference — who is ready to stop shrinking in public. We are not a support group. We are the table everyone is actually invited to.
Facial paralysis · Schwannoma · Acoustic neuroma · Scars · Burns · Tremors · Bell’s palsy · Vitiligo · Alopecia · Limb difference · Stutters · Whatever yours is
Three things you get here that you do not get anywhere else
Most spaces make you pick a diagnosis, prove you belong, and hope the group is still active. We skipped all that.
One room, not forty
No diagnosis gate. Schwannoma, facial paralysis, scars, tremors, or something nobody has named yet — same door, same chair, same conversation.
Humour that is actually allowed
The jokes that get you through 3am googling and a bad first date. Nobody here calls you brave for going to the pharmacy.
Sorted by real life
Work and Career. Dating and Relationships. Bad Days. Wins. Post where your problem actually lives, not where your chart files it.
We are not selling a cure or a programme. We are building a place.
The Community
Four boards organised by real life. Say the thing you cannot say anywhere else.
The Podcast
Real conversations, more humour than expected and less pity than anyone deserves.
The Stories
First-person essays from this community. Readable anytime, not just if you caught it live.
The Resource Hub
When you need clinical or advocacy help, we point you to who does it best.

About us
We are not a charity. We are not a support group.
Schwami & Me started because one person got tired of being the only one at the table who looked different, and got tired of everyone else pretending not to notice.
Turns out, a lot of people feel that way.
- For the stares, the bad dates and the coworkers who do not know where to look.
- For the 3am googling, and the jokes that get us through all of it.
It is already a little awkward. That is the point.
The Open Forum is one space, open to anyone who has ever felt different walking into a room. No diagnosis required, no application, no proving you belong.
